Inching closer

Things I’ve made in resin – usually coasters or beads. Sometimes incorporating glass, but often also found objects such as sand / shells, hair from beloved pets, etc.
So many windows!
I spent some time shaping / grinding the individual windows and doors and adding some trees to the scene. I haven’t started shaping / grinding the palm fronds yet, but that still needs attention. After that, I will start adhering the smaller pieces to the houses as they need to be in place / set before I add the flowers and other small decorative details. I also shaped a crescent for the sky.
New Window
I’ve been working on prepping the old window for this project for the past few weeks. It still has some work to be done, but I started roughing out the glass for the next Rainbow Row.
Flower Suncatchers
Some flowery suncatchers – it is hard to tell in the photos, but some of these have a frosted / ripple / wrinkle effect. Plus one heart made of many tiny red glass dots.
Small Stuff
I’ve been quietly working on some small stuff – working out a few different types of flowers and some glass ball hearts on the side.
Rainbow Row Window – done!
This window needed an extra coat of resin (likely could use a little more, but sometimes I go overboard). Now it’s ready to go to the SC Artisan Center, where it will be available for sale.
This is the largest Rainbow Row piece I’ve made to date at 30″ wide by 13.5″ tall.
Resin Poured on the Row
Today I poured and embellished the first resin layer on the Rainbow Row window. I used 8 ounces of resin and might need to make a second layer as this piece has a lot of depth to the details such as trees / bushes.
Today’s progress
Slowly working on adding layers of detail, plants, window boxes, decorations.
Adding Details
Today I added some detail to the window boxes, which have to be done in layers (layer, wait for mosaic adhesive to dry, another layer, etc).
