Glass of Sherry
Wrapped up my “8 Seasons” set project today. I’m pretty happy with how they turned out. Eight panels (each approximately 6″ square). Two for each season (Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter). These will be sold with the display stand as a set for $400.
I needed one more panel to complete the set of eight, so I made a second Autumn themed one with some acorns and leaves. Tomorrow I should be able to pour the resin on the flowers, snowman and acorns all at once.
Today I glued in place the three panels I worked on laying out yesterday. Now to wait for the glue to dry so I can pour the resin. I have one more empty panel I want to add to this group – need to come up with some ideas to round out the set! The spring flowers remind me of Grape Hyacinth more than Delphinium.
Some friends and family opined that my Seahorse panel for this set was more summer-y than spring-y, so I set out to make some other options to round out the seasons. Today I started a sunflower, a snowman, and spring flower panels. I still have to decide what the flowers themselves will look like for the spring flowers panel.
I had some snowman parts already made, so it was easy to lay out the parts.
I might use the small blue glass globs in the top right of the photo for the flowers. I think it would be nice to make it look like Delphinium!
Here is the reveal on the Pumpkin, Seahorse and Wreath panels for this set. I also made some progress on a few new “season-themed” panels for this set, so stay tuned!
I poured the resin on the other three seasons panels today – will be fun to take off the masking tape in the next day or two and see how they turn out! My son says the Seahorse isn’t “spring-y” enough and that I should make a panel with a flower, so stay tuned for a sunflower panel for this project next!
Today was the day for starting my fourth season panel, autumn, and it had to be a pumpkin! I spent the afternoon cutting / grinding the pieces for the pumpkin, stem and leaves. I may even include some floral wire tendrils, but the more I think about it, the less likely I will include them. They’re too likely to be squashed and lose their shape over time.
I still have to pour the resin on Spring, Winter and Autumn, but I am going to wait until the glue dries on the pumpkin panel to do that. I also want to put some masking tape on the backs of these panels before I pour the resin, as it is a big help in keeping the back side of the glass panel clean.
The resin I poured on the Fireworks panel the other day has cured and it turned out better than I expected. In person, it has a lot of sparkle and it looks pretty cute in the display stand!
I got to the point where I needed to pour some resin today. However it’s been quite a while since I’ve used this resin and I wanted to make sure it hasn’t gone bad, so I decided to test it out on a couple of beach themed ornaments I’ve had sitting around partially completed for awhile. I mixed 100ml of resin and poured it and it looked ok, so I went ahead and covered the fireworks panel for the “Seasons” project since I’m not that happy with this particular panel anyhow. I won’t cry if the resin doesn’t cure properly for this piece.
I also prepped the wreath and seahorse panels so they are ready to pour if the resin passes today’s test. If not, I will need to order some more resin!

I’m working on this changeable display for various holidays / seasons. Still just the beginning stages, but I’m making progress! There is a sparkly stained glass wreath, a seahorse, and some fireworks in the works so far. I plan to make at least four panels (hopefully more like 6-8). It really helps me to take pictures and look at the pieces on my computer so I can see areas I want to enhance in later steps.
